How returns work when it is a gift

Nobody puts this on a gift guide, because it is the unromantic part. But it is the one piece of timing that catches people out every single December.

Here is the part nobody explains. A thirty-day return window starts the day it is delivered, not the day it is opened.

So a gift that lands on the first of December and gets unwrapped on the twenty-fifth has already spent most of it. Open the box when it arrives. Count the tiles. Wrap it again. Then you both have time.

What to do in the five minutes after it lands

Open it. Count the tiles — 160, including eight jokers. Look for the spare blanks. Check nothing arrived cracked. Then put it back in the box and wrap it properly. Five minutes in early December buys you three weeks of room to fix anything.

If something is wrong, that is the easy case. Our policy covers items that arrive damaged, defective or incorrect with a free replacement, and in most cases you do not need to ship anything back — a photo is enough. That is faster than a return, and far faster than a payment dispute.

Change-of-mind returns work differently: the item has to be unused, in its original packaging, requested within 30 days of delivery, and approved by us before anything is sent back. Return shipping in that case is on you. All of it is spelled out on the refund policy page — worth two minutes before you buy anything as a gift, from anybody.
