Palm & Parasol Mahjong Set — 160 Tiles

Nobody at the table has to hunt for the Jokers in this set, because no two of them are alike. There is a line-art portrait of a lady in a swimsuit, sunglasses on, hair up in a bun. There is a film camera with two Polaroids beside it. There is a cocktail with an orange slice and a cherry on the rim, a striped tote bag, and a pair of round sunglasses. Each picture comes in two colorways, and the word JOKER is handwritten in a curve above the art, the way you would letter a postcard.

The Dots climb in striped beach parasols over a band of blue water; the Bams are deep green palm and banana leaves with BAM lettered by hand, and the One Bam is a toucan with an orange bill. The Craks are red scalloped postage stamps holding tropical fruit — coconut with a straw, dragon fruit, orange, grapes, raspberry, papaya, watermelon, blueberry — with CRAK written across. The winds are oversized N, E, W and S filled with sun, surf and palms. White Dragon is an open navy beaded frame; Red and Green are the same sea serpent rising from the water in red and in deep green. Flowers run four tropical blooms in two colorways, warm ones checked blue at the corner, cool ones checked pink. The backs are a pale sky-blue checkerboard on matching ivory-cream, no logo, and the edge is one solid ivory-cream layer — engraved and color-filled, not printed.
